Now, there are a lot of superstitions that surround a transfer day and a lot of things people recommend you do. For us, we decided to try them all….because why not?!?! We both wore our shirts, I wore lucky pineapple socks, I ate fries on the way home (I chose chick-fil-a fries over mcdonalds), and I ate soup later that day. I also ate warm foods for the next 9 days (a lot of soups or chili). I ate avocado every day and I ate pineapple (with the core) for 5 days after the transfer. I ate lots of fruits and maintained a healthy diet. I took the first 3 days after the transfer pretty easy and I let my body relax. I also ate “sticky buns” (cinnamon rolls) for breakfast, for sticky thoughts. I had warm socks I wore for the next couple of weeks, to keep my body heat in so I would have a warm and inviting uterus. I colored to help relax and not stress. Other than this, I just attempted to focus on anything other than the blood test I was going to have in 9 days…

The wait……

During the 9 day wait (better known as the 2 week wait), I colored and kept myself busy. I attempted to not focus on the blood test. I chose to not take an at home test and wait for the blood test results. Some women choose to take an at home test, but we decided it was not something we wanted to do. I had a list of positive affirmations I said every night before bed. We have a chalkboard in the main part of the house that we wrote positive affirmations on. We talked to the embryo…telling it to stick, grow, stay in place, and many other things. As we got closer to the blood test, it was harder to not focus on it. I continued to eat my nice warm foods, because I wanted to create a nice/warm/inviting uterus. The morning of the blood test, I woke up and said some positive affirmations. I ate some breakfast and headed out. When I arrived, I had my blood work slip and I waited my turn. That wait was almost worse than the 9 day wait. A very nice lady who works at that location took my slip and called me back for my blood draw. The was not your average blood draw and when she saw the name of my doctor on the slip, she knew it was a special set of labs. She told me she prays over her hands every morning and she had a good feeling. She did the blood draw and prayed over my blood work. I knew we would get the results the same day and it would be about 3 hours before we had the results. I decided to spend that time trying to relax. I got a pedicure and decided to walk around target…..
